Gypsy Stories
Life in Roma settlements in Slovakia is full of contradictions — joy and music intertwined with poverty and struggle. For many families, daily life means facing limited opportunities, social exclusion, and living conditions that few outside these communities can imagine. Children grow up surrounded by both hardship and resilience, carrying dreams often weighed down by lack of resources and support.
Through my lens, I try to capture not just the struggles, but also the strength, dignity, and humanity of the Roma people. My photographs tell the story of children who long for education, families who fight for a better tomorrow, and individuals who refuse to let circumstances define their worth.
These images are not meant to stereotype, but to open eyes and hearts. To remind us that behind every face is a human story — of survival, resilience, and hope for a brighter future.
