An International Wedding at Château Béla – Catalina & Andrej
There are weddings that feel like fairy tales, and then there are weddings that go beyond — where elegance, emotion, and culture meet in a timeless celebration. Catalina and Andrej’s international wedding at the enchanting Château Béla in Slovakia was exactly that: a day filled with poetry, color, music, and love.
A Castle Wedding Steeped in Romance
Set against the stunning backdrop of Château Béla, this wedding carried an atmosphere of old-world charm blended with modern elegance. The soft tones of the château walls, the symmetry of its gardens, and the golden evening light created a perfect stage for two souls promising forever.
As a photographer, I look for honesty in every frame — the small glances, the unguarded laughter, the tears no one else notices. With my Leica cameras — the Q2, M11, and SL2 — I was able to capture this day in its full depth: from wide cinematic scenes to the most delicate close-up portraits. The color tonality of Leica brought warmth and richness to every shot, while the black-and-white moments revealed pure emotion.
The Ceremony
Guests from around the world gathered in the château’s gardens, surrounding the couple with joy and anticipation. The sound of water from the fountain, the fragrance of summer roses, and the bright afternoon light gave the ceremony an almost painterly quality. Catalina’s entrance was breathtaking — her gown flowing like poetry in motion, Andrej waiting with a smile that said everything.
Every Leica frame was filled with emotion: the subtle details of hands reaching for each other, the exchange of vows under a clear blue sky, and the overwhelming applause as the couple walked back down the aisle, showered in petals.
The Celebration
As evening fell, Château Béla transformed. Golden light turned to soft shadows, creating a magical setting for portraits among blooming gardens and historic stone walls. Later, the celebration moved indoors, where music, dancing, and laughter filled the halls. From intimate cake-cutting moments to wild dancing under colorful lights, every emotion was there — joy, love, and unfiltered happiness.
Leica allowed me to move seamlessly between genres: reportage during the ceremony, fine art portraits in the gardens, and dynamic storytelling on the dance floor. Each image carries the timeless Leica signature — rich tones, deep blacks, and soulful authenticity.
A Day to Remember
Catalina and Andrej’s wedding at Château Béla was more than an event. It was a tapestry of cultures, emotions, and memories woven together in one of Slovakia’s most magical venues. For me, as a photographer, it was an honor to be part of their story — and to capture it with Leica, a tool that allows me to translate moments into timeless art.
