Forgotten in 2025 — Veľká Lomnica

In Veľká Lomnica, the storm clouds never fully lift. The wind carries the smell of wet earth, smoke, and survival. Homes stitched from broken boards and rusted metal stand like silent witnesses to lives lived far beyond society’s edge. Every path is carved by footsteps that have no other place to go.

Faces here tell stories no one asks to hear — stories of cold nights, quiet hunger, and stubborn hope. Children grow up in a world of mud and tin, learning too early that the world outside their settlement moves forward without waiting.

These photographs are not meant to beautify suffering. They are a mirror held up to the year 2025 — a reminder that progress is selective, and entire communities remain invisible unless someone steps in, looks directly at them, and refuses to look away.
